MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE ROLLED INTO ORACLE PARK ON JULY 19 FOR THEIR SECOND SHOW OF THEIR LONG LIVE THE BLACK PARADE TOUR, and the energy was off the charts. The show kicked off with a drag-anthem rendition of the national anthem before diving into “The End.” From there, it was a very theatrical show spanning the full Black Parade album, followed by a second set stacked with fan favorites like “Thank You for the Venom,” “The Kids from Yesterday,” and a surprising cover of Smashing Pumpkins’ “Bullet with Butterfly Wings”

One unforgettable moment came early in the night with the staged “execution.” As four masked figures stood on the B-stage, the crowd voted “Yea” or “Nay.” Though most shouted “nay,” the figures were “executed” regardless, with pyrotechnics exploding behind them and cardboard soldiers closing in—letting fans take part in a chilling, politically charged moment right before “I Don’t Love You” kicked in full force. It was bold, intense, and exactly the kind of immersive theater MCR fans crave. From nostalgic hits like “Teenagers” to emotional deep cuts, the band sounded tight, Gerard Way commanded the stage, and the storytelling felt just as vital two decades after the original album release. If last night was any indication, the MCR community is very much alive and well, the legacy is strong, and you need to get tickets if you haven't.
