Moanday - “La Molina”

“La Molina” is Moanday’s new track to make the days a little brighter. Consistently releasing new-age funk track, “La Molina” creates an energetically sweet atmosphere. The Madrid-based indie duo collaborate with Spanish-American artist, Danny Schiller in the sunshine filled track. The bass groove on this track is enough to make you feel the song throughout your body, making you move along with every beat. With the vocal end, you’ll be singing the lyrics at the top of your lungs. A notable trait throughout their music is the duality in language, singing both in Spanish and English. Enjoy this ray of sunshine in song form.

Layzi - “Nothing Ever Feels Right”

This soft and dreamy track paints a picture of relatability in the quiet hours of the night. With soft spoken lyrics, Layzi tells a much darker reality in her song. As the 6th and final song on her new EP what’s left to lose, “Nothing ever feels right” is the perfect summary to their illustrative EP and quite the end to the release. Overflowing with emotions, the track pulls the listener in to the world of the song with soothing synth and the relatable feeling that “Nothing ever feels right.”

Uma - “Maybe We'll Wake Up”

“Maybe We’ll Wake Up” is Uma’s latest track to take you in its arms and cover you in comfort. The song starts off with a little tune from an acoustic guitar that smooths out into a slow melody. The song was written in the heart of spring on a boat in London but it’s essence and release in the fall is perfect for the current atmosphere. Featuring Amy May Ellis, the vocals are made to wrap you up in warmth and take you through the song with a heart full of any emotion. Every note is made with a sweet nature of coziness. While you’re listening the track goes by quickly but the reaction you’ll have is what gravitates you to hit the repeat button. Along with “Maybe We’ll Wake Up,” Uma and Amy May Ellis release “Nebula,” a song that perfectly follows “Maybe We’ll Wake Up.” Give it a listen and find yourself adding it to every sweet playlist you have. 

Lamorn - “Encore”

Kicking off his new EP Encore with an album titled track “Encore”, Lamorn welcomes his listener in with a fun energy. Keeping the energy high after making his Red Rocks debut alongside his mentor deadmau5, this project touches on themes of self-reflection. Bringing in elements of indie, electronic and psychedelic rock at times, Lamorn cites influencers from Tame Impala to deadmau5. “Encore” keeps a solid pace through the track while highlighting morphed vocals from Lamorn himself that keeps the audience bopping along. With lush textures and soundscape easy to fall into, “Encore” was written by UK writer/producer Phil Simmonds, who is known for their work with Olivia O’Brien, Diplo) and more. Lamon shares, "My life has changed a lot this past year. I can feel my childhood moving further away, as adult life is beginning to kick in. 'Encore' reflects on that, being a song about missing the past, but also looking forward to the memories that are yet to be made.”

Approachable Members of Your Local Community - “Just Say It”

Melbourne indie-pop duo, Approachable Members Of Your Local Community, share their new single -- “Just Say It.” The track combines upbeat elements with a sweet flow throughout the track. Along with the melody of sweetness and groove, the contrast in vocals makes the track an addicting song. The duo never fail to let their vocals flow with the instrumentals, along its side not away from it. “Just Say It” is something new that Members are trying out but with the encouraging atmosphere that surrounds the track, it’s safe to say they nailed it. Check out “Just Say It” and see what else they have in store for your ears. 

Ok Cowgirl - “Her Eyes”

Brooklyn based indie rock band Ok Cowgirl release their new dreamy track “Her Eyes”! This is their second single off their debut EP Not My First Rodeo, which takes you on a hazy ride with velvety smooth vocals passionately pouring out emotion. The 5 minute song speaks on cross examining ones
own feelings, until finally coming into the realization and proudly shouting them out into the world. “Her Eyes” is a queer anthem that evokes this sensation of warmth that only being in love can supply to the listener. From the soft instrumental buildups, to the mini guitar solo, Ok Cowgirl truly encapsulate all the whirlwind of emotions that involve having a crush.

RIVER - “Brother”

As an uplifting melody in uncertain times, Brother by the California duo RIVER, engrains a sense of pride and fluttering happiness in their new release. Taken from their upcoming album that is set to be released in early 2022, the duo cultivate a whirlwind of emotions with their track.

Charging ahead with a distinct indie-pop feel, the duo sing about feelings they have towards others and fierce emotions that have come up in the past. The energetic track allows for personal interpretation and understanding making it perfect for your “getting ready” playlist or “need some motivation” music.

Rodes - “So Well”

With elements reminiscent of Americana and classic melodic rock, Rodes’ new track “So Well,” flows right into your heart. The song is layered with pure melodies that completely devour the feeling it invokes. On the theme of the track Rode says, “It’s about feeling powerless to stop the behavior of someone who holds power over you, and realizing someone isn’t who you thought they were.” The track isn’t about a breakup entirely, it’s theme is something that many can find comfort in. Whether it be heartbreak of betrayal from anyone, platonic, romantic or professional. “So Well” is the second track on Rodes’ debut album, All of My Friends. It’s something to look forward to and “So Well” gives you a good feel of the album's sound. 

Sam Rappaport - “Journeyman's Ballet”

The Brooklyn-based songwriter, Sam Rappaport, released his new track, “Journeyman’s Ballet.” The track is full of elements that create a unique style of sound. All of the elements are layered beautifully at the start of the song to introduce the melancholic groove throughout the song. The track follows a traveler's descent into isolation and contemplates the specters that provide him company. Grabbing you with piano notes, focused groovy guitar and drums you can feel all around -- “Journeyman’s Ballet” is Rappaport’s sound showcases at its best. Introduce yourself to his sound and listen to the track! 

Express Therapy - “I Knew”

Indie pop duo Express Therapy release their brand new single, “I Knew”—A twinkling track that instantly grasps the listener into a John Hughes 80’s romcom. The band decided to go on a mini retreat to a wooden cabin in Switzerland in order to focus on the recording of their second EP “Prom Party Nostalgia Vol.1”. Isolated in that cabin is where “I Knew” came about, which they clarify is based off fake memories that project this feeling of nostalgia to the audience in order to provide escapism from the real world around us. With captivating synths and catchy lyrics, Express Therapy deliver a refreshing song that transports you to dancing underneath a disco ball.

Marianne Engebretsen - “City Lights”

Oslo-based artist Marianne Engebretsen explores the boundaries of Pop with her latest track “City Lights”. With a sweet, heartfelt nature to the track, “City Lights” emulates a singer-songwriter feel at the surface, before bringing in a soundscape rooted in power. Tasteful production elements surround her yearning vocals for a unique pace and balance of soft, sweet elements with a flow to keep the energy going. With plans to release her second album Something New, Engebretsen continues to showcase her growth as an artist and individual through her music. Now gaining fans both in her home country and abroad, Marianne Engebretsen is a name to be on your radar for 2022.
