ALL THINGS GO CONTINUES TO RAISE THE BAR—year after year when it comes to festival lineups that feel so unique to their identity. In a world where plenty of major music festivals are still criticized for how few women appear at the top of their posters, All Things Go has built its identity around putting women, queer and nonbinary artists at the center of the experience.
Because of that commitment, their community of festivalgoers have even lovingly coined the festival everything from “Gay-chella” to “Lesbopalooza.” But beyond that, All Things Go has become a genuine cultural home for a generation of music fans galore.
Entering its 12th DC-area edition, All Things Go will be returning to Merriweather Post Pavilion from September 25-27 for three days of music across two stages. The festival has sold out for five consecutive years and has continued expanding beyond DC, with editions in New York and Toronto, but its original home is the heart of everything All Things Go has become.
This year’s DC lineup might be one of the most ambitious yet, with Mitski, Ethel Cain, Hayley Williams, MUNA, Brandi Carlile, Lola Young and Zara Larsson among the names headlining. Remi Wolf, Sierra Ferrell and Underscores were recent additions to the lineup as well that created plenty of buzz for an even more exciting weekend now.
As exciting as the names at the top of the poster are, the underrated strength of this year’s lineup might just be everything underneath. All Things Go has packed the weekend with artists spanning genres like pop, indie, electronic, hip-hop and singer-songwriter music; some already in the midst of major breakout moments and others who are just on the verge of it.
At the top of our must-see list is Remi Wolf, whose last-minute addition to Sunday’s lineup couldn’t have come at a better time. She’s currently on the brink of her next era, with her third album Mud arriving October 9. Following the colorful maximalism of Big Ideas, her singles “Twiggy” and “Bottle” welcome fans into whatever beautifully unpredictable world she’s built for us next. With All Things Go DC taking place just two weeks before the album’s release, her set will offer the chance to catch Wolf at a pivotal point of transition.
Elsewhere, Magdalena Bay, Slayyyter and Rico Nasty plan to make Friday especially exciting for anyone looking for a maximalist side to their weekend. Saturday brings everything from Zara Larsson’s divalicious and glittery performance to the wonderfully whimsical world of hemlocke springs. Zolita, Love Spells and Kevin Atwater are also high on our must-see list, while Sunday’s Ryan Beatty, Natalie Jinju and Jake Minch offer some of the weekend’s quieter and more intimate songwriting moments.
All Things Go DC is set to put on a show for festivalgoers September 25 through 27 at Merriweather Post Pavilion in Columbia, Maryland, with tickets still available for the weekend. There’s a variety of music to enjoy for everyone from fans who are attending for a specific artist or for those who are looking for their next top artist of the year.
