MASTERS OF CURATING AN IMMERSIVE, INTENTIONAL, AND GENRE-BLENDING EXPERIENCE—Same Same But Different returns to Lake Perry. The festival introduces some of EDM’s biggest names as well as a new wave of DJs, producers and performers from classic house, underground UKG and more. With so many artists on the lineup, here are five sets to catch next weekend at the festival.
Twin Diplomacy
Twin Diplomacy (Marius and Darius Bell) are a DJ/brother duo who deliver high and vibrant energy to the stage with their distinct fusion of tech and melodic house. Having played at some of the biggest stages in music and receiving support from other artists including John Summit, Kaskade, Martin Garrix, Odd Mob and more, Twin Diplomacy is a must-see for anyone chasing some feel-good dance moments at the festival.
Klo
UKG is currently on the rise, and if there’s anyone who knows how to shine in this genre, it’s Klo. The Los Angeles-based producer and DJ is steadily emerging as one of the most exciting names in the U.S. bass and UKG scene, building an underground following while accumulating more than five million streams and support from Disclosure, Notion and Fred again… High energy, raw and down to earth, Klo is the perfect set for guaranteed heavy bangers.
WonkyWilla x Strawberry Disco Circus
Florida-based producer WonkyWilla, also known as Nicholas Olivieri, has carved out a particularly playful genre of bass music with a sound built around heavy wubs, whimsical sound design and fun party energy. Strawberry Disco Circus is a collective that merges electronic music with aerial acrobatics, theatrical comedy and circus arts. Self-described as “sweet like strawberries, hot like disco,” its performers have brought their immersive spectacle to festivals including Lightning in a Bottle and Electric Forest.
The two acts are pairing up for an unforgettable set at Same Same But Different this year. A blend of performing arts and bold electronic music, this set is the perfect combination of stunts, bass drops and a chaotic yet wonderful show that’s almost impossible to forget.
Yamagucci
For those looking for a fun groove, Yamagucci is the way to go. The DJ and producer has a natural knack for incorporating field recordings, percussion and funky rhythmic elements into his productions. This unique combo gives Yamagucci a signature sound that is purely his own. Fans can expect percussion, texture and plenty of surprises from his set.
Same Same But Different is a festival unlike any other in that it excels at curating the perfect blend of immersive experiences, live music and introducing fans to a multitude of dance genres. From house to UKG to acrobatic whimsy, the festival is beaming with a plethora of activities and sets that can’t be missed and are guaranteed to be a good time.
