COSMOSY IS JUST GETTING STARTED—Since making their debut in April 2025, a’mei, kamión, himesha and de_hana have been building a world of their own through music that moves between genres, eras and sounds. The Seoul-based quartet blends influences from J-R&B, J-hip-hop and house with a futuristic edge, creating a sound that's hard to pin down to a single category. Their latest EP, ~ of the world ~, takes that approach further, exploring a failed attempt to control love through a mix of late ’90s and early ’00s influences and forward-thinking production.

Luna caught up with cosmosy ahead of their performance at 82WORLD: LA, where the group was getting ready to take the stage alongside a lineup of artists bringing their own sounds and energy to Los Angeles. With the festival taking over LA State Historic Park for two days, it was a chance to meet the members just before they stepped in front of the crowd and learn more about the group beyond the music.

Ahead of their show, a’mei, kamión, himesha and de_hana of cosmosy sat down with us to talk about their pre-show routines, dreams for the group and the little things that make their time together special.

Read Luna’s conversation with cosmosy below.

LUNA: You’re about to go onstage, and I feel like there’s always a completely different energy right before a performance. What are you guys like with each other in those last few minutes?

a’mei: I stretch and repulse. It’s a warmup I do before going on stage.

himesha: I listen to our music over and over. When I’m nervous, I make funny faces with the members.

kamión: I warm up with lip trills and pitch matching. Then I feel like I’m okay and ready.

de_hana: I warm up my voice, picture myself on stage and practice my facial expressions.

LUNA: When you think about cosmosy a year from now, what’s something you really hope you get to experience together?

a’mei: I’d love to go on a world tour with my members and meet our fans in more countries.

himesha: I’d love to have our own concert in the U.S. I hope we can make it happen.

kamión: I hope we have a song that everyone knows us for. When people hear it, I want them to think, “Oh, that’s a cosmosy song.”

de_hana: I’d love to perform at the Tokyo Dome. It’s our biggest dream.

LUNA: I feel like when a group has been together for a while, you start picking up on little things about each other that nobody else would notice. Is there something you’ve learned about another member that you didn’t expect?

a’mei: kamión looks like a cute, girly girl, but she has a really funny and awesome vibe. She’s also really kind.

himesha: de_hana looks really cool on stage, but she’s really funny off stage. She’s always making us laugh.

kamión: a’mei is good at hyping up the crowd.

de_hana: himesha is really mysterious and charismatic on stage, but off stage, she laughs a lot. And once she starts laughing, she can’t stop.

LUNA: If tomorrow was completely yours and you had nothing you had to do, what would the four of you actually do?

a’mei: I’d love to go to Santa Monica Beach with my members and eat delicious food.

himesha: I’d love to go to Venice Beach. I went there and really loved it, so when we have time, I want to go there again.

kamión: I’d love to take a short trip with my members, eat delicious food and take photos.

de_hana: I want to stay at a hotel with the members, eat delicious food, talk and talk and have fun.

LUNA: Last question—what’s something that is so cosmosy that you don’t even have to explain it to each other anymore?

a’mei: Just one look, no words. We just laugh.

himesha: We love having fun, and we take it seriously these days. We make faces and guess what kind of expressions they are.

kamión: Even when we don’t talk, we can still understand each other. Sometimes, we just look at each other and start laughing.

de_hana: We’re really serious about having fun. Whenever we have free time, we play games and just enjoy ourselves.
