IT’S BEEN TWO YEARS SINCE ALL TIME LOW LAST ELECTRIFIED LOS ANGELES — To celebrate the release of their tenth album, EVERYONE’S TALKING!, multi-platinum and chart topping rock band All Time Low brought their witty banter and high-spirited energy to the YouTube Theater, proving yet again why they’ve been adored by fans since 2003.

After exhilarating performances by opening acts The Cab and Mayday Parade, a short video introduced the audience to the main cast of EVERYONE'S TALKING! show, which included band members Zack Merrick, Robert Rian, and Jack Barakat. Our host for the evening, frontman Alex Gaskarth, then appeared on stage, accompanied by his acoustic guitar. He began the night with an intimate rendition of “[cold open].” As the last chord rang out, the stage was flooded in light, revealing the vibrant stage decked out in primary colors. Even the band members wore greens, blues, reds, and yellows, a nod to their outfits from the EVERYONE'S TALKING! album cover.

As a long time fan of the band, their setlist was a nostalgic treat. A perfect blend of newer music and long-loved classics, the show was an example of how much Gaskarth’s songwriting and the band’s overall sound has evolved over the years. At times emo and heartbroken, sometimes cheeky and unapologetic, what brought the entire setlist together was All Time Low’s undeniable talent and heartfelt honesty.

Having spent well over two decades under the spotlight, All Time Low have truly perfected the art of live performances. Prompted by Gaskarth and inspired by Barakat’s wild prancing around the stage, the band was able to get a Wednesday night audience on their feet (and even sitting on each other’s shoulders) singing, jumping and dancing. As Gaskarth and Merrick led the audience through the songs, and Rian kept the energy alive with his powerful drumming, Barakat ran amuck, licking his guitar, tossing over a dozen guitar picks into the pit and planting a big smooch on each of his band mates.

With their song “Dear Maria, Count Me In” as their grand finale, if there was ever any doubt, the show proved that pop-punk is still alive and well.
