ON TOUR FOR THEIR THIRD ALBUM REVENGESEEKERZ - 21 year old Jane Remover, leans entirely into the digicore experience, giving fans a set filled with high octane stage presence and a sound bank of samples that only the internet generation can recognize. With the tour, aptly named “Turn Up or Die”, a sold out audience at Hawthorne Theatre came prepared to show out for Jane in a night that had security on its toes with almost half of the crowd up front moshing throughout the set.
When Jane took the stage, the floor bounced non-stop as the opening track of Revengeseekerz, “Twice Removed” played out. As an anthem to the entire record and 2000s culture, it was a fitting hook to an electrifying setlist. After all, Revengeseekerz is a departure from Jane’s previous work. The new chaotic blend of sounds certainly translates to a more engaging live experience, one where many fans come prepared to sing along to every song. Tracks like “JRJRJR” and “Psychoboost” exemplify this shift most of all, combining distorted dance beats with introspective vocals.
On the more mild entries to the setlist such as “Flash in the Pan”, the crowd’s energy still never let up, with plenty of fans shouting lyrics and leaping to the beat. Jane equally matched that intensity with little effort, their stage presence amplifying the energy of the room.
The crowd’s enthusiasm, particularly during the high-energy encore, truly underscored Jane's growing connection with longtime fans, ultimately rewarding everyone with previous hits in “home switcher” and “movies for guys”. What’s most impressive is this is near the end of the tour entirely but the energy is still at an all time high. For now, this tour marks a significant evolution in Jane Remover’s live presence, showcasing newfound confidence that will keep fans checking back in for more.
