IT’S AN EXCITING MOMENT FOR IRISH-BORN SINGER-SONGWRITER AND INDIE POP ARTIST JORDAN JOY (aka Jordan Hewson) as she releases her new single, “LED Moon.” The song is a synth-forward, electronic-tinged pop track. Not only is it a follow up to her debut single, “Don’t Kill the Vibe,” it's a second taste of an upcoming EP.

“‘LED Moon’ was the first song we wrote from start to finish together. We got really excited when we wrote that song. That’s when we knew we had something interesting or something we like. It was done over six weeks. It wasn’t an overthought,” Joy shared earlier this month about the track in an interview with Nylon.

Aside from its dreamy synth tones and Joy’s one of a kind vocals, “LED Moon” also features background vocals from her brother, Elijah Hewson (lead vocalist and guitarist for Inhaler). Moreover, it's set in Brooklyn, at James Murphy’s (LCD Soundsystem) bar, NightMoves, on a glowing dance-floor and has been described as “capturing that altered first meeting on a night where the mood is all to play for.” This is all painted sonically throughout the song as well as lyrically as Joy sings, “Change the lightbulb inside the moon / Wanting me to notice you / Caught the eye of the entire room / Dancing into someone new.”

On “LED Moon,” Joy hasn’t just reinvented the idea of a late-night encounter; rather, she’s sharpened it into something more intimate and bright. Between the pulsing synths, her brother’s vocals, and that quiet plea to be noticed, she has once again given a promising and exciting glimpse into her new music.
