LYDIA KENNY CONTINUES TO FIND HER SOUND WITH “THE DEAD ONES”—The Salt Lake City singer-songwriter has built an audience with her vocals and deeply personal approach to music, and her latest single, “The Dead Ones,” brings those two things together.

The song has already reached nearly six million views on TikTok since last month, giving listeners an early taste before its release.

Kenny’s music draws from relationships, self-reflection and the experiences that come with growing up. Her songwriting feels personal, with vulnerability at the center of how she approaches each release. Rather than straying too far from that, “The Dead Ones” builds on the kind of writing she's developed since she began releasing her own music.

Kenny started releasing her own music in 2025, after first catching people’s attention with vocal covers on TikTok. Since then, she’s put out four singles and reached more than 20.7 million streams worldwide. With “The Dead Ones,” she’s continuing to build on that early body of work.

“The Dead Ones” was co-written and produced by Alexander23, whose work includes collaborations with Olivia Rodrigo, Tate McRae, Role Model and Selena Gomez. The collaboration adds another dimension to Kenny’s growing catalog, while keeping the focus on the songwriting and emotional storytelling that have shaped her music so far.

With “The Dead Ones,” Kenny continues to build on the connection she has made with listeners, this time through a song that is entirely her own. She has more music in the works for 2026, but this single offers another look at the direction she’s taking as a songwriter and the sound she’s continuing to develop.
