WESTON ESTATE IS BACK—with their latest release “Is This The End?”, ahead of their debut album Open Season arriving later this year. With sounds akin to that of Frank Ocean or BROCKHAMPTON, Weston Estate has earned their spot as a group to be on the lookout for. With this latest release, they are taking on a different approach and leaning more into a more raw and live sound while still being the group we know and love.
Late last year, the group decided to try their hand at creating a live rock album and it was one of the best decisions they could’ve made. For their debut album Open Season, Weston Estate wanted to take a step outside of what listeners traditionally know them for and challenge themselves to create something unique. “We wanted this project to feel more raw and real than anything we’ve put out before, while still having that classic Weston Estate flavor that people have come to know and love,” they shared.
“Is This The End?” serves as the latest introduction to this new chapter while also preparing their fans for the group’s new direction. The willingness to experiment and change is what makes Weston Estate a group that anyone can listen to. Any artist that can challenge themselves in this way is something worth appreciating.
There’s not only a change in music, but also with a change of members; it can be challenging for any band and, for Weston Estate, the transition from five to four members marks another way change is coming to them. Rather than allowing this change to define them, the group is honing in on this opportunity to not only reassess themselves but their music as well.
That process has also unfolded alongside preparations for their upcoming mini tour: Open Season Live scheduled to start late October through early November. Taking their new music to the road gives not only their fans but also themselves an opportunity to experience the group live in a whole new era.
A new chapter is coming for Weston Estate, and with Open Season around the corner this is a declaration that the group can show a more in-depth and personal side of themselves while also preserving the sound that makes them unique. As they step into this new era, it's clear that the band is ready to find out how this next new wave of sound will go.
