HERE’S TO PUTTING YOUR RAINCOATS IN STORAGE AND LEAVING THE WINDOWS OPEN AT NIGHT— This weekend is kicking off the summer just right. In the same 3-day stretch as EDC in Las Vegas, SoCal is bringing us San Diego’s biggest music festival, Wonderfront. The lineup is extremely well balanced genre and generation-wise, stacked with some of today’s hottest rising stars like Leon Thomas, Jordan Ward, SiR. Julian Baker & Torres, Isaiah Rashad, and Freddie Gibbs, as well as some icons from the 2010s like Khruangbin, The Fray, Jason Mraz, Neon Trees, Foster the People, and Portugal the Man — and that’s all just to start.
Though Wonderfront’s eye-catching lineup is absolutely not lacking in talent or star power in the slightest, here’s a list of ten smaller artists on the bill whose sets we think you should catch between your all-time favorites.
