Review: Azzecca Turns The Concourse Project Into a Three-Hour Marathon of Pure Dance Floor Joy

THERE’S A PARTICULAR KIND OF CONCERT THAT REMINDS YOU WHILE YOU FELL IN LOVE WITH DANCE MUSIC SHOWS IN THE FIRST PLACE - and Azzecca's Extended Sessions set at The Concourse Project was exactly that. Two years ago, I caught her at Lightning in a Bottle for a sunset set outdoors, the kind of golden-hour moment that felt perfectly suited to the vibe. Friday night showcased her growth as both an artist and in popularity in the best way possible.
The Chicago-born DJ and producer is currently on her Extended Sessions Tour, a run of 3+ hour headline sets built around a simple but increasingly radical idea: put your phone away, stop documenting, and actually be in the room. The tour is Azzecca's statement about what the dancefloor can be when you give it space to breathe, leaning into deeper crate-digging and the kind of music that doesn't always make it into a festival set. She made her main lineup debut on Coachella's Yuma stage earlier this year and has been releasing on Warehouse Project Records, Factory93, and her own COSIMEA imprint, and her Austin set made all of that momentum feel completely earned.
Three hours is a big ask, and Concourse shows have a way of testing how badly you want to avoid a surge-priced Uber home. But we stayed from the first note to the last, moving through piano house, trance-adjacent territory, and harder driving sounds without ever losing the thread. The transitions felt less like genre checkpoints and more like a single, sustained emotional arc. When the set finally ended, we genuinely wanted more.
What struck me most was the crowd itself. Concourse can sometimes tip into overcrowded, overwhelming territory, but Friday night the energy was different as people were dancing, present, clearly having a good time rather than just surviving the room. It's also worth noting how few female headliners the venue has hosted this year, which made watching Azzecca command that stage for three full hours feel like even more of a statement.
The night closed with a back-to-back alongside William Kiss. If this is what the Extended Sessions Tour looks like everywhere it lands, every city on that list should consider themselves lucky.
