THROUGH NOSTALGIC TENDERNESS AND VULNERABLE LYRICISM – singer/songwriter Jake Minch brought forth a new sense of community to The Moroccan Lounge in Los Angeles. Performing his debut album, George, fans eagerly packed into the venue to hear Minch’s new chapter brought to life.

Opening the show was Hana Bryanne, an LA-based singer/songwriter. On stage was solely her and her cellist, which led to an ethereal performance. Personable, gentle, and with a strong sense of humor, Hana Bryanne took fans throughout her discography. This was my first time hearing of her and her music, and this first impression did not disappoint. Not only did she gain a new fan through me, but also countless others in the crowd. Her vocals were spectacular, and her lyrics were beautifully gut-wrenching.

As Hana Bryanne left the stage, fans fell to a whisper as they eagerly awaited the arrival of Jake Minch. The lights began to dim, and within the darkness was the gentle glow of a singular lamp on stage as Minch stepped out with his band. The stage immediately felt cozy and inviting, and fans gathered around for storytime.

Minch led with his song “Nostalgia Act,” and fans began to softly sing along as they braced for the impactful performance that was about to hit them. At this point, the venue was tightly packed with groups of friends waiting to make new memories together with George as their soundtrack.

As the show progressed, Minch brought out his first guest of the evening, Alix Page. Together, they harmonized along to various songs on the album, which received tremendous applause from the audience. Towards the end of the set, Minch brought out two more special guests: Grace Enger and Lizzy McAlpine. It was truly special to see Minch’s album brought to life on stage alongside friends.

As the show drew to a close, fans were experiencing true elation from seeing their favorite artists come together to bring such an honest and powerful album to life. Minch is surely an artist to keep on your radar, and make sure to take a moment to immerse yourself in his debut album, George, out everywhere now.
