JUNO-NOMINATED CANADIAN SINGER-SONGWRITER—Luca Fogale released his latest single “For” on August 29.
The indie-folk track presents a gentle might. Fogale’s subdued vocals kick off the first verse which later swell with courage in the bridge as he asserts, “Keep the promise / That my hope won’t die / That it’ll shine so bright.”
The heart-filled ballad’s gradual build up exhibits that strength doesn’t need to make a booming entrance—it’s a silent, ever-present commitment.
Alongside a tender guitar, Fogale sings, “Keep my footing when darkness calls / Carry forward every moment / If all is cherished, then no love is stolen.”
“For” is a reminder of how human it is to feel the urge to give up, and yet we continue.
Fogale describes, “This version of myself tries to be tireless, resolute, unbreakable, unknowing that he will fail, as he is only human. I recognize inside myself the desire to strive, to achieve, to provide, and in turn I notice how hard I fall when I lose touch with humility and self-acceptance. The narrator is in a race against time and against vulnerability.”
Following the release, Fogale will tour with Hollow Coves along the West Coast.
